I did compare the two. See, I had to replace mine when it blowed up. I replaced it with the nismo one cause it is better then the OEM.
Oh, and cheaper to install than the HOWE or Griffen. Just bolt off, bolt on. None of that weld here, cut this, bend this back, reroute throttle cable, duct tape fan shroud, and knock on wood. Now, I too was a sceptic. Till I used my 5/20 vision to determine that the fins are tighter (=more surface area for cooling...ah...see...smart people, those Nismo guys are.)
Now, lets move onto the core....well I'll be blessed, it looks like the Nismo has more tubes running through the same area (not by much, but there is a difference). I wasn't able to determine if the tubing was riffled or not, or whether the material was copper or aluminum. I bet ya it was aluminum cause it weighs 1 oz. How much does that Howe one weigh again? The ONLY thing you got me on is how much water the Howe and Griffen hold. 42 gallons is alot of fluid to be carting around up front, donchya think? ok, laterzzz
